I had a great afternoon of short family portrait sessions the other day on Federal Hill in Baltimore. I got to check in on some former wedding clients (love to see how their families are growing) and meet some lovely new couples and their children.

The philosophy behind my child photography is simple: Just let them be themselves. Kids don't fake smiles any better than adults do, so why bother trying? Instead, I photograph what they give me naturally, which is often a beautiful serene expression. Later when they get more comfortable
