I met Laura through my friend Sarah, who I met on a medical mission to Ecuador of all places (I was taking pictures, I'm not a surgeon in my spare time in case you were wondering). Sarah is an amazing nurse, who has such a big warm heart that you almost want to get sick so she can take care of you. So when Laura first contacted me and told me she was a friend of Sarah's and also a nurse, I knew this was someone I had to work with.
Indeed, it turns out that these sweet, friendly, big hearted people travel in packs. Laura, Brian the groom, their families and friends -- all were great folks who were a breeze to photograph and pleasure to be around! Add to this a beautiful spot on the bay, a warm May afternoon and a thunderstorm hanging around in the distance (for a dash of excitement), and you have the makings of a fantastic wedding.
I started my shoot with some getting ready photos at the hotel, then we were off to the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club for a few group portraits and then the ceremony and reception. Check out the photos below to get a feel for the day.
