Theresa and Matt recently moved to Hampden and, proud of their new neighborhood, chose to have their engagement photos taken right on "The Avenue." Being a happy Hampdenite myself, I loved the idea!
We started out with some photos of the couple in front of their house, and then wandered down 36th street, letting the light and background lead the way. So we stopped for a nice patch of sunlight near the Common Ground, photographed a kiss in a bit of lovely backlight near Fraziers, and paused in front of Cafe Hon's pink flamingo for some more photos. Gradually we worked our way to the end of the street and wandered into Roosevelt Park. On our way back, we stopped for some well-deserved ice cream at one of the Theresa and Matt's favorite spots, the Charmery.
Interesting tidbit: I was introduced to this lovely couple because Theresa's aunt Linda remembered me from her days as an assignment editor at the Baltimore Sun -- back when I was mere cub photographer. So thanks, Linda, for remembering me! I look forward to seeing you at the wedding next May!
