Animated Bridal Portraits | Cinemagraphs of Karen in Her Wedding Dress

Took my lovely and patient wife Karen up into the studio this afternoon to shoot some photos of her in her wedding dress, including some simple animations called cinemagraphs.
I love these animations and plan to continue to explore their untapped potential for visual storytelling. 

I learned to make cinemagraphs from an online tutorial by photoshop guru Russell Brown. Basically what you are doing is shooting a short video and freezing one frame to serve as the still part of the image.  You layer this still image on top of the video, and cut a hole in it with a layer mask to let some of the video show through. (Ideally the video should be something which can run on a continous loop). You then convert the whole thing into an animated gif and voila!
